Terms and Conditions
Taxivans acknowledge that there is a necessity to set out what is and isn’t acceptable in black and white, we put our terms and conditions in a language that we can all understand. Unless you are a business customer, we do not provide credit. All jobs must be paid by credit card or by cash at the end of the job.

  • Taxivans (Scotland) Ltd provide van and driver hire, the loading/unloading must be done so by the customer except by prior arrangement.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any load we feel is unsuitable (i.e. awkward, delicate, soiled) and dangerous or hazardous. 50% of the job cost will be charged if this is the case.
  • We reserve the right to increase the amount charged if the job is not as described or takes longer than quoted for.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient parking and access facilities are available.
  • Ours vehicles are comprehensively insured for Hire and Reward. We offer goods in transit insurance to the maximum value of £20,000 and a public liability insurance of £1,000,000. Any damage must be reported and verified with the driver at the time of delivery, we cannot accept responsibility for any alleged damage after job is complete and payment has been made. Any claim is subject to an excess of £250.
  • Delicate or fragile items must be adequately packed or protected by the customer- we only carry blankets for general protection whilst in transit.
  • We do not offer cover for fragile or irreplaceable items such as glass, crockery and antiques
  • If our driver must enter a property (residential or business) we are not liable for any damage and a clear path must be made for access and exit.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to load the vehicle unless by prior arrangement. We will not be liable for damage due to poor loading.
  • If our driver is being employed to assist in loading/unloading, for health and safety compliance they will not lift any single item over 30kgs. If you have heavier items please ensure that there are adequate people to assist.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to take out extra insurance if required.
  • Once you book a job (either online or by phone) you are accepting our terms and conditions.
  • Any cancellation must be advised at least 12 hours before our due arrival time or you will be liable for a call out fee of 50% of your booking cost.
  • Our vehicles can legally carry 1000kgs, anything larger will require additional vehicles. The driver has the final decision on vehicle load.
  • We reserve the right to subcontract for the purposes of fulfilling the contract.
  • We will not be liable for acts of god, examples of which include but are not limited to extreme weather and natural disasters; any consequences of war, invasion or terrorist act.
  • Our drivers are polite and careful, and will not tolerate abuse.
  • Job arrival times are estimated. We will do our best to be on time but circumstances out of our control may cause delays.
  • There is a 1 hour minimum charge on all jobs. After this, rates are charged in half hour increments.
  • A maximum of two passengers are allowed to travel in our vans at any given time, no one can travel in the rear of the vehicle.
